Best fitment for compact and mid-size vehiclesUpdated 6 months ago

We often get asked about what tent fits best on smaller vehicles, such as a Subaru Crosstrek or a Toyota RAV4.

With a compact or mid-size SUV, weight will have a lot more impact on how the vehicle drives, so most owners will appreciate a lighter weight tent.  These are the tents we recommend.
Falcon 3 Evo Air - This is our lightest weight hardshell tent.  The main thing to consider with the Falcon 3 Evo Air is its length.  Vehicles with shorter roofs might run into interference with the tailgate opening.  In some cases, the tent may not be able to be moved far enough forward to clear the tailgate.  
We recommend no more than 30% of the total length of the tent be unsupported in front of or behind the rack.

Condor 2 Air - This is our most compact hardshell tent and is only 145lbs, which is 10lbs heavier than the Falcon 3 Evo Air.  This tent is only 60" long when closed so almost never causes any interference with vehicle access.

Meadowlark - This is our lightest weight tent and can work on virtually any vehicle.
